Next Sunday, cyclists will aim once again to make the grade, literally, at the eighth annual George Street Bike Challenge for Major Taylor at 10 a.m. July 26 at the corner of Main and George. Day-of-race registration is 8:30 a.m., with all cyclists 12 and older welcome. The $15 entry fee benefits the Major Taylor Association. Began to eat in Worcester, 1957. Allegedly grew up on South Ludlow St. Alumnus of dubious standing: Heard St. School, Worcester Alternative High School, UMass-Amherst (wrote senior thesis on KRAZY KAT). Cartoons have appeared in CLASSIC IMAGES, WORCESTER MAGAZINE, MOTHERTOWN, WORCESTER TELEGRAM & GAZETTE, INCITY TIMES. Married to Bernadette since 1989, a testament to her sense of humor, and daddy to honorary kids Eric John Yankus-Franco and Jessica-Lee Van Winkle, and to pen-and-ink daughter Laurel Angela Tilbury.
