A cartoon blog starring Laurel Tilbury, 9, of 33-1/3 Tadcaster Place, Worcester, Massachusetts. New cartoons appear every Sunday in the ACT section of the Sunday Telegram and online at www.telegram.com.
Laurel and I look forward to seeing you at stART on the Street on Park Avenue, just four Sundays away on Sept. 20. Along with the first three Laurel books, we'll have two new items at our sidewalk boutique, with a special pre-stART discount offer for our online friends.
Here's the cover for the first Laurel blog cartoon book, collecting the first six months plus an introduction that includes Laurel's debut in a CLASSIC IMAGES cartoon from 2001. The book is $5, but you can reserve your copy for pickup at stART (or postpaid to your home) and take a dollar off. We'll tell you how after we show you...
...the design for the Laurel T-shirt. Our girl's racing somewhere and exuding joy everywhere on a silk-screened, off-white 100% preshrunk cotton T-shirt. This will sell for $10, but you can preorder yours in any size between now and Sept. 1 and take $2 off. To reserve your book and shirt, just e-mail me at sunspott1@gmail.com. For more info on stART, visit www.startonthestreet.org. Thanks and be seeing you!
Began to eat in Worcester, 1957. Allegedly grew up on South Ludlow St. Alumnus of dubious standing: Heard St. School, Worcester Alternative High School, UMass-Amherst (wrote senior thesis on KRAZY KAT). Cartoons have appeared in CLASSIC IMAGES, WORCESTER MAGAZINE, MOTHERTOWN, WORCESTER TELEGRAM & GAZETTE, INCITY TIMES. Married to Bernadette since 1989, a testament to her sense of humor, and daddy to honorary kids Eric John Yankus-Franco and Jessica-Lee Van Winkle, and to pen-and-ink daughter Laurel Angela Tilbury.
